She ran one of her hands through her wet hair and then down against the side of her neck. Her fingers brushed over the flawless skin and then stopped at that place on the juncture between her neck and shoulder where the bite wound already began to close and heal. Sofia took a deep breath of air, stroking that place where only a short while ago Robyn’s mouth closed over her skin. She could still feel the dampness and heat of the woman’s breath, followed by the soft touch of her lips. She remembered throwing her head back at the mixed sensation of pleasure and pain she felt when sharp teeth dug into her skin, pierced it and buried into her flesh. She wanted to cry out or run at the feeling of life being drained out of her, but her voice was gone and her knees felt weak. Her eyes then rolled in the back of her head and she gasped. Robyn supported her body in her arms, holding her up for a moment longer until her teeth withdrew and she separated her mouth from Sofia’s shoulder.
It was just before Sofia lost all consciousness that she noticed the wildness in Robyn’s eyes and the feral smile spread over her bloodstained lips. The sight of another being thriving on the taste of her blood was the last image she remembered from her mortal life.
“Feeling better?” Robyn waited for her by the window when she came out of the shower, wrapped up in a plush robe firmly tied around her waist.
“Alive.” Sofia answered and Robyn smiled.
“Well, that’s another way to view it, yes.” The light in the room was gone, only the Moon that hung in the sky cast a rich glow through the window. Robyn’s face was illuminated by the moonlight and Sofia could distinguish every line on her features: high cheekbones, the curve of her patrician nose, full lips and smooth brow. Her eyes always seemed to glow, only now there was nothing feral about it, only the reflection of the moonlight in her clear blue eyes. “Come closer, Sofia,” she beckoned. “Let me see you.”
Sofia walked over slowly, never before feeling quite so shy. She was aware of the role she now had: an apprentice, with Robyn as her mentor. “The clothes you gave me, they don’t fit,” she said.
“Hmmm,” Robyn’s eyes narrowed, “I guess we’ll have to go shopping then. But never mind that now.” With a lick of her tongue over her lips, Robyn tilted her head to the side and offered her hand for Sofia to take. “You won’t need them tonight anyway.”
She wanted to ask what exactly that meant, but she didn’t have to. In the instant she accepted Robyn’s hand, the woman pulled her closer and they came face to face with each other. The smile on Robyn’s lips spoke volumes and the image of the kiss they shared earlier that evening flashed before Sofia’s eyes. That same primal feeling she had before started to stir inside her.
“Why me?” Sofia wanted to know as Robyn’s fingers came to untie the girdle that held Sofia’s robe closed.
“I noticed you a while ago,” Robyn confessed with her fingers prying Sofia’s robe open. “You were so... Exquisite. So refined.” She whispered smoothly, “Outstanding. Your blonde hair,” Robyn ran her fingers through Sofia’s damp tresses, “flowing down your back... That smooth, red silk touching your skin the way most mortals could only have dreamed of touching you... I was compelled to have a taste. And now that I have,” Robyn’s lips parted in a sensual intake of breath, “A mere taste is not enough.”
Sofia heard the stories before, about vampires and their seductive nature, their charm, which no one could resist. She felt it, the pull that glimmered in Robyn’s eyes and became clear in her smile. Once before she would have fought it, but this time she surrendered – as if she really had the choice – to the wave of sensations that came with Robyn’s touch. The robe slipped from her shoulders and pooled at her feet on the floor. Sofia could see the darkening of Robyn’s eyes and the clench of her jaw at the sight of the exposed skin. Without waiting for encouragement, Sofia stepped forward, closed in on the other woman and pressed Robyn’s lips to hers.
The divine taste of Robyn’s warm mouth and fierce, smooth tongue fighting with hers made Sofia purr in pleasure. Like she was feather-light, Robyn swooped her up and in a second they were across the room, stretching over the soft sheets, tangled in each other’s limbs.
The cross over the line between mortals and the undead Sofia had recently made, gave her the first experience in sensory ascendancy the vampires had in comparison to human kind. Everything felt intensified: the tastes, the scents the tactile sense... she had never experienced the human touch with such force, depth and exhilaration.
Robyn circled Sofia’s throat and tightened with fingers of one hand, gripping onto the pulsing points at the blonde’s neck while she claimed the blonde’s scorching depth with the other. Sofia’s back lifted off the bed at the wonderful feeling of possession Robyn made over her. The glorious sensation continued with the moist contact against her skin when Robyn’s head dipped and her tongue traced a path over Sofia’s jaw line. The kisses that followed drew out all air right out of her lungs and she became dizzy with delight at the effect that the other woman’s touch had on her.
She felt the change happening inside her. Not just the sharpness of senses, but also the roar of her newly acquired instincts as well. She turned, from her human form into the form of much superior being and with that turn came the hunger, the kind Robyn spoke before. Something unstoppable and completely overpowering; it surged through her veins by the forceful beats of her pounding heart, and pushing her to the very edge of what she was familiar of and capable to withhold.
Robyn pressed her into the mattress with extreme strength and Sofia hissed at the intensity of the force that was applied to control her body. The act exceeded the mere corporal level and evolved into a power play, the exhibition of supremacy and authority, the right of the tutor over the novice.
Robyn owned her and she was doing her best to make Sofia very aware of that fact. With her glowing eyes Robyn taunted Sofia and after one last thrust, the beast in Sofia broke loose, lighting up her eyes and tearing at the confines of the last threads that made her human. The rush of strength exploded in her muscles, and with a roar she reached for Robyn, pulling her closer and then burying her sharp teeth into the side of her master’s neck.
Robyn wailed, but didn’t fight back. She allowed Sofia to tangle her fingers into her hair and hold her down while she fed on the blood of her elder, proving her right to be accepted into the vampire coven and lead the life of an immortal. Slowly, as the blood mixed and united the two for the second time, Sofia felt the beast quieting; she withdrew from Robyn and fell back on the bed.
The tang of blood filled her senses and Sofia relished on its taste as she fought to still her breath after coming down from the high of feeding off of immortal. Robyn leaned in one more time and planted a gentle kiss against Sofia’s blood smeared mouth.
She watched in satisfaction as her student exhaustedly drifted off into sleep.
The sensation of water rivulets never felt so amazing before. Propping her arms against the tiled wall, Sofia closed her eyes and hung her head, letting the hot stream of water run down her back. Every bead that rolled down her body left a wakeful path on its way across her skin. The sound of water filled her senses, almost as if she was hearing it for the first time; drops drumming, echoing in the small shower space.
